REVIEWS.
"This is a superb read and a story that will remain with you forever. Paddy Cummins captures so many moods in his telling of this tragedy, you feel you are there with the central characters. And because it's relating to a true story, it's even more poignant. You'll find it difficult not to cry at certain parts.
It's true that at times, the sea shows no mercy; the tension is built up so well here that you won't know until the time is right whether or not the sea needs more souls. This is a book and a story, which will travel and will be read and told when we are long gone".
Damien Tiernan. RTE. Irish Television. Author of 'Souls of the Sea'.
"Children should not die, but it happens, and in recounting this harrowing tale, Paddy Cummins has reached into the very fabric of the human soul.
This book is not just for people interested in fishing or the sea. It is for everybody, and is one of the most emotionally charged books published this year".
Brendan Keane. Book Review. Echo Newspapers.
"This sensational new novel sheds light on one of the most intriguing sea mysteries of recent times, and explores the dark sinister theories surrounding the explosion and fire that sank a fishing boat, throwing her crew into the Mediterranean Sea, and the Island of Malta into shock and confusion.
Full of Mystery, Drama and Intrigue.

The Crying Sea eBook Paddy Cummins
When reading this amazing novel, make sure you have a large box of tissues nearby. You'll need them as you absorb this harrowing story of incredible human endurance. If this saga was merely a work of pure fiction created in the author's fertile imagination, it would be a gripping page-turner of deep emotional impact. But when you're aware that these devastating events actually occurred, and as recently as 2008, then it becomes a voyage of emotional intensity that leaves you baffled, bewildered and breathless.
This is about a true sea tragedy, so mysterious and intriguing that even to-day, many questions remain unanswered. But it is much more than the tragic shipwreck of a Maltese trawler. It is about a little fishing family, the catastrophe that so cruelly visited them, and their courage and dignity in responding to it.
In particular, it is about the bravery of a little boy, already captivated by the sea, unlucky to be shipwrecked on his first fishing trip, but emerging as the real hero of this horrendous six-day struggle for survival. The courage and forbearance of this little boy, cradled in his father's arms on a makeshift raft without food or water, lost and drifting aimlessly in the isolation of the vast Mediterranean, would cause a painful tug on any mother's heart.
Paddy Cummins manages to capture the ocean of moods and the rivers of emotion that flood this gripping story. But his portrayal of a deep and difficult saga is moving, evocative and beautiful, leaving the reader with long lingering thoughts of intrigue, amazement and empathy. Reading `The Crying Sea' is an emotional experience rarely encountered, and the story will long remain in the memory.

The Crying Sea eBook Paddy Cummins Reviews
Need I say more, the five stars say it all. This well researched, harrowing story of a Maltese fishing boat disaster in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea totally gripped my imagination from the first page. It is recounted with such emotion that I was able to live through the traumatic experience just as if I had been there on that boat. It will definitely pull on your heartstrings. Highly recommended, it will not disappoint.
A touching and poignant tale of loss and faith, The Crying Sea is the sort of book that will occupy your thoughts after completion. The story, and its telling, are done quite well and I found myself quickly immersed in the narrative. Unfortunately, the copy errors were too numerous to overlook and detracted from the experience. Wash this book through the editing process and it would easily gain another star.
Well written and a good description of the dangers that the fishermen have to face on the sea. Bob Summers
I enjoy survival stories, and this was a truly inspirational story. I am sometimes rather leery of the ability of the body and spirit to survive, but I haven't been there so I don't know. Easy read, would recommend if for no other reason, than spiritually uplifting.
